Henry the Biewer Terrier
Looking for a gentle and loving companion? Biewer Terriers are a wonderful choice.
- Henry, my Biewer Terrier, loves to cuddle, is stunningly smart, and most generous with kisses.
- Biewer Terriers are not aggressive. Henry loves all dogs and is shy around people.
- Henry does not bark except when the doorbell rings, or if prompted to sing.
- Biewer Terriers are hypoallergenic- they do not shed.
- Because Henry's ears bend over, he will always look like a puppy regardless of his age.
- The Biewer Terrier size is ideal for long walks and other adventures.

Boy Versus Girl Puppy
If you are wondering whether to purchase a male Biewer Terrier, but are concerned about potential marking and aggression concerns, do not fear! Henry has never marked inside the house, and there is not an aggressive bone in his body.
"Timing is everything," though. An early neuter (at six months) is critical to guard against marking concerns according to his vet.
So go ahead! Adopt a boy Biewer Terrier with confidence!
Squeaky Toys & LOTS of Chew Sticks
Henry loves to carry small tennis balls (about 1.5 inches in diameter) and other squeaky toys in his mouth.
Six inch bully sticks (made in the USA) can be found all around our house. They have been very helpful during his teething stage.
I recently purchased a "Hyper Pet Doggie Tail Interactive Plush Dog Toy" from Amazon that Henry is enjoying. It's quite entertaining to watch him play with it.
Food & Treats
It can be difficult to find healthy, desirable food and treats for your Biewer Terrier. Henry's digestion is tricky. (Apparently it's a characteristic of the breed.) Royal Canin makes a Yorkie puppy dry food that Henry enjoyed during the early stage of his life.
Now that he is one year old, he eats a mixture of Dr. Marty's (a freeze dried meat and vegetable product) combined with Blue Wilderness Small Breed Adult dog food. His stomach reacts well to both of these brands.
For training rewards, we slice Blue Dog Bakery Beef Sticks into small, bitesize circles. Henry also enjoys Zuke's Mini Naturals pork recipe treats.
These brands are recommended as they haven't bothered Henry's stomach, yet many others have.
